Helle Cook is a Danish-Australian artist based in Meanjin / Brisbane, Queensland. In luminous layers of paint she explores the sensory experience of light, place and belonging. Her evocative paintings linger in the threshold between landscape and abstraction, memory, and imagination. The work guides the senses within, around, and beyond horizons, as she draws parallels between Nordic and Australian light and nature. A deep-felt connection to our natural environments is layered within the work, inviting open-ended interpretation.

Cook holds a Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) from the Queensland College of Art and has held solo and group exhibitions in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. She has been artist-in-residence in Australia, Italy and Denmark. Highlights include solo exhibitions at Redland Art Gallery, Caboolture Regional Hub Gallery, Gatakers and Metro Arts' Ferryman’s Hut. Late in 2024, Cook's solo exhibition titled ‘In Light of Everything’ opened at Rubicon in North Melbourne, Victoria, and in early 2025, her exhibition titled ‘Nordic Light - Beyond Horizons’ opened at the the Queensland College of Art.
