Phoebe is a self-taught Sydney-based artist working in oil pastels. In her work, Stone explores the beauty and delight to be found in a well-balanced coming together of composition, colour, pattern and texture. Scenes of the domestic, whether food or the accoutrement of daily life, are drawn and drawn again by Stone in her signature urgency, impatient to see their pleasing forms and arrangements take shape on the paper.

“The still life works in this mini-release - titled ‘Compositions’ - were created as summer faded. As soft memories of summer lingered within my studio, thoughts drifted to warm days, hotter nights, ocean blues and citrus tang… all while slowly being cooled by autumn breezes and low light.”
